Safety
The club owns 2 Personel Locator Beacons (PLB's), one of which is carried on all club Tramps.
The other is available for members to borrow for personal tramps if not required by the club. To locate the spare PLB contact Sally.
Training
Most of our trip leaders have undergone a 2 day Outdoor first aid course. This is a very intensive course which goes beyond the requirements for workplace first aid. When resuce may be hours or days away the first aid requirements are much higer than when the ambulance can arrive within minutes.
Many of our trip leaders have also participated in a river crossing course run by the Moutain safety Council.
Health and Safety Guidelines
The committe has recently put togeather some health and safety guidelines for club members and trip leaders.
